Note to self:

Get off the dammed internet. You've got 1 website to get as up to date as you can, 1 to build, a forum to somehow transfer across, a forum to install, a set of drawings to do and a goddammed novel to write and what are you doing?

You're sitting on your ass again and pissing around doing nothing. You've had 23 days since your job ended and you've done sweet fuck all of what you said you were. Hell, you've got a report due in 7 days that if you don't hand in will mean that you don't pass this year at Uni. Have you done any? Of course not!

So disconnect from the Internet, put that book down, stop playing on the computer, turn the tv off and do something for once.

That is all.

Have a nice day now.

Love, me.

Two posts in one day, it must be a record.

Ok, so a little history behind the thing giving me a headache the size of Cornwall. The gambitguild.com went down just over a year ago, taking it's forum with it. Turbo created a new one and not two months later deleted it in a fit of 15-year old temper. I created the new gambitguild forum on freepowerboards, expecting just to run a forum. Instead I ended up creating the gambitguild.co.uk to go with it.

Any way, I promised the users when I created the forum that I wouldn't delete it and that I would keep it as stable as possible. That is become a trial, since they seem to suck quite badly at the moment and we are having frequent errors and downtime.

I'm now looking at creating my own forum on my hosting space, which I didn't have back when I set it up originally. Which is just fine. I can pretty much install a forum in my sleep these days and if I can't do it then Drak has offered to help.

What is causing me the biggest headache is trying to backup the freepowerboards forum so that I can transfer it across and not lose any of the posts. I should be able to back it up from the admin cp, but it's fucked.

I wish there was a way to backup without access to the database or the backup option, but as of yet I've yet to find one.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Ok, so I think I may have found some 3rd party contenders that might just do the job.

As it's 9:15pm and I haven't eaten for a while I'm going to bookmark the pages and have a look at them with fresh eyes tomorrow.

For my convienience here they are:
