Fear the cough
Oct. 7th, 2007 11:19 pmI have the nastiest, dry, breath-stealing cough at the moment. The stuffy head I'm used to dealing with, and the stuffy nose, but the cough is something I can do without.
I panic when I cough. I can't help it. Years of having chest infections so badly that I almost literally couldn't breathe have left me almost phobic of coughing, and of course that is the sort of cough I have to go and get.
I'm also losing my voice. Luckily I don't have to do much talking over the next few days in Uni, I just need to get the work done. For tomorrow evening. Lots of it. Ah well.
Also, my Bell's Palsy is finally starting to get a bit better. Over the last few days my face has gradually unfrozen, little bit by little bit, and I can now almost blink properly and I'm not at risk of dribbling from my left side. I still can't smile properly but at least my sense of taste is back as well.
On the other hand, the steroids are making me hella jittery and having to take an anti-viral every 4 hours, 5 times a day, is not fun. Ah well. I take the last on tuesday of the anti-viral at least, and on wednesday I start reducing the amount of Prednisolone I'm taking by 10mg every day. w00t!
Sorry if this is a little rambling. I'm not good at thinking when I'm ill.
