Ok, so we went to the Halloween Rock Night on Friday. And it did indeed rock. Despite some last minute accessory problems (fucking hair pieces) we both looked fab and we looked good enough that at least 7 people recognised us enough to actually say something to us.

We didn't get into the costume competition though, which was a shame. But then, when you're up against a woman in a full set of Chaos Marine armour that she made herself (I'll post the pic when I can get it off my phone) what do you expect. She deserved first place.

Met some nice people though, since we spent a fair while lurking out the back to cool down (I don't know how Rogue doesn't melt given all she wears). One in particular was fab. He was in a full chainmail shirt and leather larp armour, but not only that he looked like David Tennant (current Dr Who). He was lovely, and a complete comic nerd. Hell, he's one of the only people I've met in real life who not only knows who Sage is but likes her. The three of us must of spent a good hour and a half talking comics. I wish I could remember his name and had got his number. Oh well, might see him again.

Here be pics of the finished outfits, with make-up. )

So now my thoughts turn to next year... and there are so many choices, especially since if I keep gymming the way I am I should be a lot more toned and able to wear less. Here is a list, any advice on which to pick? Images under the cut for those that don't know.

Mystique )

Poison Ivy )

Rogue again (with Kaz as Gambit) - Look up

Cyclops (because I can :) and with Kaz as Emma again) )

Blues Brother (with Kaz as the other one) )

Jack Skellington (Nightmare Before Christmas and with Kaz as Sally) )

I'm tempted to say that if I meet my toning goals that I've set myself I'll go as Mystique.

So I like the Victoriana/Steampunk style of clothing and I'm currently putting together an outfit to wear out to Rock Night and the such. I've got the beginnings and I'm working on adding some more of the Steampunkish elements to the Victoriana.

Anyway, this is what I wore out on my birthday:

I'm trying, really. )

Another picture post. I'm sorry to anybody on my f-list for this but it has to be done.

As I said back in the post after the Comic Show, Kaz bought me £210 worth of Marvel busts in Gambit and Deadpool, and since I promised pics here they are:

Cut for sanity's sake )

Other good news that I've just remebered. After a month of not seeing our fave waiter we were afraid he'd moved away (and stopped working at F&B). But no! I saw him working on Saturday. Life is once again good. Especially since he is a dead ringer for Illi (and what I'm basing him off figure wise).
